Do children need travel insurance?
We at Multitrip.com believe children and babies should be covered with the same level of holiday insurance as an adult. Multitrip.com offers travel insurance for under 18s that cover your children, step-children, or foster children, whether they are travelling abroad with the family, going on a school or college trip, or even travelling without their parents to meet a family member. Children's Travel Insurance options
You can insure your child on a standard travel insurance policy. There are a few different ways to do this. Below lists all the circumstances where we provide travel insurance for children.
When your child (foster & step-children are included) is travelling with family, you can insure them under Family Travel Insurance.
If your child is travelling with a responsible adult 18 years or older, you can cover them under a Single Trip Travel Insurance.
If your child is travelling on an organised school or university trip, you can cover them under a Single Trip Travel Insurance.
If your child is going on an Erasmus Program in another country, or on a gap year trip for example, they can be covered on Backpacker Travel Insurance.
With a Multitrip Family Travel Insurance policy, you can insure up to 10 people at once and up to 8 of your children.

What does Travel Insurance for Children cover?
Children can get insured with standard travel insurance and enjoy most of regular benefits of adult travel insurance.
Cancellation or Curtailment
Cancellation covers irrecoverable, unused travel and accommodation costs and other pre-paid charges which you are contracted to pay while curtailment covers your reasonable additional travel expenses incurred to return to your home country as a result of an unforeseen illness, injury or bereavement.
Medical Expenses
This covers emergency medical and other expenses including dental (for pain relief only) if an insured person suffers a sudden and unforeseen bodily injury or illness or dies during a trip outside Ireland.
Emergency Assistance
This provides 24 hour emergency assistance in the event of a medical emergency abroad, repatriation or curtailment of your holiday.
